The art of listening
Improving cooperation through active listening
Communication skills in daily working life are often equated with talking, arguing, negotiating and presenting. Listening is often neglected and even misinterpreted as a weakness.
Genuine listening conveys appreciation and respect, creates a connection and makes it easier for the other person to contribute valuable input to the conversation. You can only respond specifically to your counterpart when you have really understood him or her.
Especially in online meetings, a culture of focused, active listening is a basic requirement for good results and effectiveness, as well as for the active participation of more reserved people.
